Colorado employer registration

We'll register you with:
Tax portal: MyBizColorado for paying and managing your tax accounts
We'll securely share your login credentials along with your employer IDs
Colorado business license: with the Colorado Secretary of State
State income tax: Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR)
You'll get your Colorado Account Number (CAN) within a few weeks
State unemployment tax: Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE)
You'll get your Unemployment and Family & Medical Leave and tax rate within a few weeks after you run your first payroll
Local tax agencies: Occupational Privilege Tax (OPT), if applicable for local taxes

Sit back and relax—we'll let you know if we need anything else from you along the way. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

Once Colorado issues your Employer IDs, we'll work with you to access your MyBizColorado account, remind you to watch your mail for a letter from CDLE, and enter your Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
