State income tax: Maine Revenue Services
You'll get your Maine Revenue Services (MRS) within about about a week
State unemployment tax: Maine Department of Labor's Bureau of Unemployment Insurance
You'll get your Employer Account Number and Experience Rate (unemployment tax rate) within 2 weeks after you run your first payroll
Paid Family Leave: Maine Department of Labor’s Paid Family and Medical Leave
You'll get your Employer Account Number within 2 weeks

Sit back and relax—we'll let you know if we need anything else from you along the way. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

Once Maine issues your Employer IDs, we'll work with you to setup your logins with Maine Tax Portal, ReEmployMe, and the Paid Family Leave site, and enter your Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
