Massachusetts employer registration

We'll register you with:
Tax portal: MassTaxConnect for paying and managing your tax accounts
We'll securely share your login credentials along with your Employer IDs
State income tax: Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) and Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)
You'll get your Withholding ID and PFML rate within about a few business days
State unemployment tax: Department of Unemployment Assistance
You'll get your Unemployment ID and Employer Medical Assistance Contribution (EMAC) and tax rate within a few business days after you run your first payroll

Sit back and relax—we'll let you know if we need anything else from you along the way. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

Once Massachusetts issues your Employer IDs, we'll work with you to set up your logins with State tax accounts and enter your Employer IDs & tax rates into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
