Tax portal: PrompTax for paying and managing your tax accounts
We'll securely share your login credentials along with your Employer IDs
State income tax: New York Department of Taxation and Finance
You'll get your Employer Registration Number within a couple of weeks
State unemployment tax: New York Department of Labor
You'll get your UI Rate and tax rate within a couple of weeks after you run your first payroll
Local tax agencies: If your business or employees are in the New York Metro Area or Yonkers, we'll help you set up local taxes
Metropolitan Commuter Transportation and Mobility Tax (MCMT) and START-UP NY if you live in the New York Metro Area

Sit back and relax—we'll let you know if we need anything else from you along the way. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

Once New York issues your Employer IDs, we'll work with you to set up your PrompTax login and enter your Employer IDs and Rates into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
