Utah employer registration

We'll register you with:
Tax portals: Utah.gov and Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) account for paying and managing your tax accounts
We'll securely share your login credentials along with your Employer IDs
State income tax: Utah State Tax Commission and Utah Department of Commerce
You'll get your Department of Commerce Entity Number, Utah Tax Account ID and Business License within about 2-3 weeks, depending on when your PIN letter arrives
State unemployment tax: Utah Department of Workforce Services
You'll get your Employer Registration Number and contribution rate within a week after you run your first payroll

Sit back and relax—we'll remind you to watch the mail when needed. In the meantime, we'll let you know if we need anything else from you. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

We'll remind you to watch the mail for a PIN for your TAP account. When it arrives, we'll finish setting up your tax accounts. When they're ready, we'll help you acces your online tax accounts and enter your Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
