Washington employer registration

We'll register you with:
Tax portal: Secure Access Washington (SAW) for paying and managing your tax accounts
We'll securely share your login credentials along with your Employer IDs
State income tax: Washington Department of Revenue and Secretary of State
UBI numbers can take up to 12 weeks based on Department processing times
State unemployment tax: Washington Employment Security Department (ESD)
It can take up to 12 weeks for the Department to issue your ES Reference Number and tax rate , depending on processing times
State Worker's Compensation: Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I)
You'll get your risk class code within a few weeks
Paid Family Leave: We'll register you for State Paid Family Leave and add access to your SAW account.
 
Sit back and relax, it might be a while. We'll let you know if we need anything else from you along the way and are available to help you navigate long processing times. Most of the time you won't need to do anything until it's time to enter your new Employer IDs and tax rates into your payroll system.

Once Washington issues your Employer IDs, we'll work with you to e-sign the company authorization form to let your payroll company file and pay taxes on your behalf, and help enter them into your payroll correctly.

If you have any questions in the future, we won't leave you hanging. We offer ongoing support packages in case anything goes wrong (and to make sure nothing goes wrong in the first place).
